Join artist Tamara Kostianovsky on Sunday, June 28 for a conversation about her new site-specific installation at ArtYard, where free-standing textile sculptures merge human forms with landscape to create a surreal, dystopian jungle. Crafted from discarded textiles, Kostianovsky's richly layered works evoke flesh, roots, flowers, and bone, blurring the boundaries between body and ecosystem.
During this artist talk, Kostianovsky will discuss her practice, the ecological ideas that inform her work, and how Phantom Limbs imagines our deep connections to the natural world.
Born in Argentina and based in New York, Kostianovsky has exhibited internationally at institutions including the Brooklyn Museum, the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, and El Museo del Barrio.
This talk follows David Bailin's artist talk at 11 AM. Join us for both conversations and spend the day with the artists behind two of ArtYard's newest exhibitions.
