A tour of the upper portion of the Frenchtown Cemetery is scheduled for Sunday, May 24, at 2 p.m.
We’ll visit the graves of Miss Frenchtown of 1931; kindly Clarence Doan, Frenchtown’s unluckiest man; murderer Amos Hart; Frank Barrett, the man who worked one day a year; Elden Cooley, an entrepreneur who specialized in trouble; the monumentally stubborn Mary Moore; merchant Oliver Kugler, who advertised: “LADIES, You may regret wedlock, but you’ll never regret buying a carpet from O.R. Kugler”; and many more.
The tour costs $20 (bring money, please) per adult and $75 for dogs. Teens tour for free. To register, email RickEpstein@yahoo.com.
