Aqualumina Workshop: Shibori River Suits

Please join ArtYard for a Shibori indigo dyeing workshop to create a tie-dyed and painted River Suit to wear in Aqualumina’s lantern parade on May 9. Bring a white nightgown, white pajama set, white overalls, or sailor suit to transform into a wearable waterway (see below for suggested options).

Visual artist Rebecca Kelly will host two workshops on Sunday, Jan. 11 and Sunday, Jan. 25 from 11 AM to 3 PM. Rebecca will lead a demo from 11 AM to noon, followed by a lunch break. The workshop resumes from 1 to 3 PM.

Limit 10 participants per session. The workshop is $20.

Participants should bring their own white cotton clothing to dye; thrift-store finds work well. A limited number of white sailor suits will be available for purchase at $5 per top or bottom.
