Experience an afternoon of restorative sound and musical exploration as flutist and sound practitioner Díjí Kay leads The Sound Ritual at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, Nov. 12 as part of Davóne Tines’ residency with his band THE TRUTH.
The Sound Ritual brings traditional sound medicine to the concert stage. Using the tenets of sound healing and meditation, and combining it with chamber music, jazz and improvisation, and electronics, The Sound Ritual forges a curative listening atmosphere for audiences and performers alike.
With collaborators from the band THE TRUTH; John Bitoy on piano and synth, Khari Lucas on bass and electronics, and Díjí Kay on sound medicine instruments and flutes, this kaleidoscopic offering will present a blend of written music, naturescapes, and intentional improvisation to uplift, elevate, and restore listeners. So come, relax, and get lifted by The Sound Ritual.
The Sound Ritual is free; donations are welcome.
